Frequently Asked Questions
How do I start a fast?
Open Fast-E and tap the Start button on the main screen. The timer will begin counting your fasting window based on your selected schedule.
Can I change my fasting schedule?
Yes. Go to Settings > Fasting Schedule to choose from popular schedules like 16:8, 18:6, 20:4, or OMAD (23:1).
Is my data stored online?
Your fasting history is not. It is stored locally on your device and we never see it. Some things do reach our servers: when the app first runs it registers your device, sending a random device identifier along with your device model, your iOS version and the app version; while the app is open it sends that identifier about once a minute to check whether we have replied to you; then the feedback you choose to send, which carries that same device information again; your Apple push token if you allow notifications; and, if you turn it on, a usage analytics signal. The privacy policy lists all of it in detail.
Is Fast-E really free?
Yes. Every feature in Fast-E is available at no cost. There are no paywalls and no ads.
How does the timer work?
Tap the Start button to begin your fasting window. The animated ring shows your progress in real time, and the Fasted line under the countdown counts your total time fasted. When you reach your goal the ring turns green and the Fasted line keeps counting until you end your fast. If you need to stop early, you can cancel at any time.
What languages does Fast-E speak?
Fast-E is available in English, Spanish and Norwegian Bokmål, including the widgets and the Apple Health permission prompts. It follows your device language automatically. To pick a different one, find Fast-E in the iOS Settings app and choose Language.
How do I delete my data?
Your fasting history is stored locally, so deleting the app removes it from the app. You can also clear individual fasting sessions within the app. If you turned on Apple Health sync, the fasts Fast-E wrote into Apple Health stay there until you delete them in the Health app. If you have sent us feedback from inside the app, that conversation is held on Cuti-E servers so we can reply to you, along with the device record the app registers on first launch. Email [email protected] and we will delete it. Note that iOS keeps the Cuti-E device token in the system Keychain after the app is deleted, so a reinstalled Fast-E still resolves back to that same Cuti-E record even though it generates a new device identifier.
